CITY HALL STAFF
Deborah was born and raised in Eatonton, GA. After graduating from Putnam County High School, she attended Georgia College in Milledgeville, GA. She and her husband Al Butts have three children, seven grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
Her love of accounting led her to employment with the GA Department of Corrections, Fiscal Audits, where she retired as a Senior Auditor in 2011. After retirement, Deborah purchased and HR Block franchise.
A member of Sparta Baptist Church, Sparta-Hancock County Historical Society, and Friends of the Hancock County Library, serving her city and community has been foremost in her goals for retirement. As Treasurer for the City of Sparta, she is fulfilling these goals.
RECORDS RETENTION MGR
Bill is a retired Florida CPA with over 35 years in accounting and corporate administration. He began his career as an internal auditor and held subsequent positions in credit/collections, corporate accounting, tax manager, VP of regional bank holding company, FDIC auditor and bank examiner, and real estate broker/property manager.
Personally, he is an active Deacon and provides accounting services to his church. He is also a volunteer to local Helping Hand food bank in Sparta and is a member of local Chamber of Commerce and local Historical Society.
He enjoys and is committed to his family, his church and building new relationships with friends and neighbors.
Bill is dedicated to work with City of Sparta and provide guidance and compliance with Federal, State and local record retention guidelines.
